Titanium dioxide is a key ingredient in high-grade paper and thin paper. By adding titanium dioxide to paper, it can be made to have better whiteness. For high ash and anti-aging requirements of the paper, it is necessary to use rutile titanium dioxide, such as in bible paper and paper money, to achieve the desired opacity. Generally, anatase titanium dioxide can be used.

.The strength of the covering power is an important indicator of the cost-effectiveness of titanium dioxide. Paper containing the same titanium dioxide can cover the base color, which is an important factor in determining the cost of titanium dioxide. In essence, high hiding power of titanium dioxide generally results in higher prices, but the amount of use is relatively low, which may result in a lower cost per ton of paper. Conversely, low hiding power of titanium dioxide, although the price is low, results in a higher cost per ton of paper due to the higher amount of use.

.Whiteness: The whiteness of titanium dioxide affects the appearance of the paper after molding. It can be based on the whiteness of a particular paper and the selection of titanium dioxide pigment filler.

.Good wettability: High wettability of titanium dioxide can reduce its viscosity in the pulp system, reducing the tendency of self-agglomeration of titanium dioxide. It can also reduce the surface tension of titanium dioxide in the pulp system and improve the surface wettability of titanium dioxide. This ensures that titanium dioxide in the pulp can guarantee the rapid and uniform dispersion.

.High retention rate of paper: To ensure uniformity and opacity in paper, it is essential that titanium dioxide be present uniformly and stably throughout the papermaking process. A higher retention rate of titanium dioxide results in a better opacity of paper and requires less titanium dioxide to achieve the same effect.
